baby shower and bath tub

My brother so nicely accompanied me to a close college friend of mines baby shower today. Leia is expecting her first baby, Lucas Austin, in November. It was also Claire's first long car trip to Garland.

Leia meets Claire

Here are a couple pics of Claire's first "submerged in water" bath in her new bath tub.

She kept trying to turn her head towards the water.

I am having to get used to having to wash and comb newborn baby hair. Both of Claire's brothers were born practically bald :)

Celebrating 30....

It is so weird to say I'm 30. I remember when I actually thought that was way freakin' old. Funny how now that I'm 30 it doesn't seem old at all. My sister hosted a party for me at my house. Here are a few candid shots. Wonder why we didn't take any "posed for" pictures???

The cake people couldn't spell

Ethan loved this ceiling decoration. He asked us to leave it up until his 30th birthday.

Being 30 isn't all that bad. As a matter of fact, if you could've shown me a glimpse of my life at 30 ten years ago, I would've been pleasantly surprised! I am such a blessed person. I have a wonderful husband, family, and friends. I have 3 beautiful healthy children, a nice home, and a job I love with people I love. Who could really ask for more?

Doug took a short video clip of the boys game room dance party. It was pretty amusing watch. I am so glad everyone had a good time!

end of first week home

Here are a few pic of the end of our first week home.

Here is Davin sitting at Daddy's desk on Friday when they went to finish end of the month stuff.

Claire sweetly sleeping in her car seat prior to our first "outting" to lunch and Target before we picked Ethan up from school. As soon as we got to the restaurant Davin announced he needed to poop, and Doug and I realized we forgot Claire's diaper bag. YIKES!!

Claire chillin' in her cradle.

Her eyes are turning more and more blue every day.

Davin loves holding his sister. There has been no jealousy here. Gotta love the ketchup on Davin's face ;)

School day # 3

Ethan likes school, but he is not very happy about having to leave Claire all day long. He came in my room at 4:30 this morning when I was up feeding Claire. I asked him what he was doing and his response was that he wanted to get up early so he could spend some time with Claire before school.

Davin went with Daddy to take Ethan to school and have breakfast with him again this morning.

When they got home Davin decided to pull a chair up to the counter and pump while I loaded the dishwasher.

Davin sat on the couch and held Claire for over an hour.

Claire enjoyed some floor time.

We went to dinner at Babe's a day early for my birthday since Ethan has soccer practice tomorrow.

The boys blew out my firetruck candles for me :)

first doctor's visit (8/25)

Both of the boys were up before 6:00 this morning, UGH! Since Davin was already awake, Doug let him eat breakfast at school with Ethan.

Davin thought that eating breakfast at school with his big brother was soooo cool! He felt like such a big boy with his own tray.

Claire had her first visit to the pediatrician this morning. Dr. Dhoot said that she looks great!

I went to change her diaper this afternoon and discovered that her umbilical cord already fell out. That happened sooner than I remembered it happening with the boys. For some reason I was slightly saddened by this.

We spent some time stretching, kicking, and playing on our blanket on the floor this evening.

She kept trying to suck her thumb.

We had to teach her brother to back up and give her a little space :)

Ethan's first day of first grade

It is hard to believe that August 24th is already here! Daddy is taking Ethan to his first day of first grade. I hope he will have an awesome year!

I sent Daddy to school with the camera so he could take a picture of Ethan in his new classroom and with his new teacher, Mrs. Banister, on the first day of school. Unfortunately, Daddy failed his assignment and this is the only picture I have :(

Davin enjoyed being out most of the day running errands with Daddy. He even got to go to Daddy's Dallas office. I just hung out at the house with Miss Claire. Her hair is so funny!

She even looked around for a little while today!

Hanging out at home

The first thing the boys did as soon as they woke up (much too early I might add) was coming running into our room looking for Claire. They both want to hold her constantly which is very sweet, but somewhat irritating.

We enjoyed hanging out in my room the majority of the morning watching Claire look around at everything. She was very alert that morning.

You may notice Davin is in almost all of the pictures. That is because Davin is always right there. Ethan comes and goes. Hoping Davin will eventually do the same. I'm glad they love her so much, but it makes it hard to take care of her with one of them constantly hovering.

Going home

We get to go home today. Dr. Rose came to check on Mommy one last time and send us on our way. He delivered both of your brothers as well.

Daddy didn't come to the hospital until I called and told him we have the official all clear. I had to go to some stupid "discharge class" this time. I guess the hospital just started it.

Daddy putting you in your carrier for the first time.

This is not the coming home outfit I had planned for you. It was supposed to be a really pretty pink one with a matching bow and socks. The outfit was a 0-3 and it so big on you that it looked ridiculous. Your socks wouldn't stay on your feet, and your head is so small that the band with your bow kept slipping down around your neck. We had to put you in a official NB outfit. It's cute, but not what I pictured for coming home. No matter, we're just glad to have you home!

One day old

Good morning, Claire! I am always so excited when the nurse wheels your little bed into my room after I have finally had a few hours of sleep, a shower, and breakfast. Claire is an awesome "switch feeder" so I will be taking full advantage of that and leaving you in the nursery all night while we are in the hospital.

Your brother was very excited to see you this morning. Of course, he insisted on holding you so we finally let him.

Look at that smile!

She's finally awake!

Your brothers were very excited to see your eyes open.

Ethan finally gets a turn holding Claire.

What a sweet face!

Mommy , Daddy, and Claire.
