Galveston and the end of summer

 August 5th, we celebrated Granny's 75th birthday.
My parents took the entire family sans poor Doug to the beach at Galveston for a few nights.
It was a very relaxing way to end the summer!
I thought Claire and I were building sand castles, but she said they were drums.
 Ethan's hermit crab maze.
Aunt Whitney buried Davin.
 The hermit crab catch.
Davin was pretty good at the skim board by the time we left.
 sweet kiddos.
A big thunderstorm trapped all 8 of us in the camper the final evening.
We also got a chance to hang out with the redneck crew and celebrate Jake's birthday.
Dealing with the whole house building process has been very stressful this summer. Interest rates have been going crazy, and we could not lock ours until we were within 60 days of close. As of Friday, August 9th, I still could not get confirmation that we were withing that window! The difference in interest rates from March to now was going to increase the GFE payment by several hundred dollars a month. All that being said, Doug and I decided to pull our contract on the home we were building. The bright side.....we found a house that we absolutely love, and we close September 9th! We have both been so much more relaxed and at peace since we made this decision. The even brighter side....we will be back in the neighborhood with the old red neck crew! Yay!!!! We are all so excited!! I can't wait to get out of this apartment. Here is to a blessed new school year, and new beginnings!!! Love my "redneck" girls!

Water fun and Six Flags

We had so much fun in Turner Falls, Oklahoma.
I am so glad Steph was still with us for this little day trip
 These slides were awesome!!!!
It was such a blessing to spend time with our sweet Sherri.
We also spent time at NRh2o and Denton Water Works.
We went to Six Flags twice this summer for free! Can't beat that!!!
The first time was with out cousins when they brought Ethan home.
The second time was with Carmen and crew, and it was 105 that day. Ethan is tall enough to ride everything. There are only a few large things Davin can't ride, but he can ride everything else.
Claire LOVED it.
The only time she got upset was when she was too small!
We are even thinking about getting them season passes for Christmas!

Miguel was brave and rode the Superman!
Good times!

El Paso 2013

Our summer family trip to visit the Seale's in El Paso
 was a blast as always.
We enjoyed getting to visit with all the family.
How many grandchildren can you fit in the hot tub?
The El Paso Zoo

Scenic Drive on the Franklin Mountain

Ethan stayed behind in El Paso for a couple of weeks, but we got to bring
cousin Stephanie home with us. It was so much fun that we hope she comes again!
