Spring Break fun!!!!!!

Our spring break began with very wet and cold soccer games. Ethan was absolutely soaked and freezing.
Claire and Davin thought soccer spectating in the rain was pretty fun!
After the games were finished, all 3 of my kids left to go camping with Grandma and Grandpa. Their camper got stuck in the mud from all the rain, and they were left with no choice but to stay in a cabin over night with none of their stuff. They were pulled out the next morning, and promptly left for their tried and true Ft. Richardson State Park.
This pic is from Ft. Richardson in Jan.

Doug and I had a couple of date nights during spring break. One was to the Denton Bach Society concert. We went to hang out at Rocky's sports bar afterwards with my dear friend, Heidi, and her pals. The second was to see the NBA champion Dallas Mavericks! I don't have a single pic of Doug and I on our adventures.
Claire and I made "Pinkalicious" cupcakes while the boys rode the train. I think I have had to read that book everyday for weeks. She is so excited, and she looks like Pig-pen again! She even sported nothing but her pink panties for the occasion. Davin asked where the white sprinkles and cherries were.
They were so excited to finally ride the a-train. They rode from Denton to Carrollton then back.

We spent most of the day Friday at the Frank Buck Zoo in Gainesville. All of the kids said their favorite animal was the black bear.

They all loved feeding the goats!

They weren't the least bit scared of them, unlike their mother!

After we finished in the zoo we rode the train around the park.

After our train ride we had a picnic lunch at the park, and finished our day at the awesome playground!

Claire boo loved playing at the park so much that she had her first accident in her panties! Doug and I were partially to blame because we didn't take her to use the potty after we finished lunch. Luckily we brought extra clothes!
St Patty's day we played at home, but we didn't have a nap. Claire fell asleep at the dinner table, and her brothers fell asleep on the couch not long afterwards.
This week went by so fast! Boy, does it make me pine for summer!!!!

Well, if you happened to read my New Year's resolutions way back when then you know that I quickly failed. One of my resolutions was to update my blog at least once a month, and I let over 2 months pass between post. Blogger has changed things around a bit since my last post, and I haven't completely figured all of this new formatting out. This post is full of random stuff we have been up to the past couple of months.
Doug had his 38th birthday on March 9th, and we celebrated with sushi (for Doug), hibachi (for the rest of us), friends, and German chocolate cake!

Ethan was Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in the 3rd grade living history museum, and did an outstanding job!
I sneaked into his classroom and snapped a shot of him at his Valentine's Day party. It isn't as cool for Mom to be at the party as it used to be. It's so sad (for Mom)!

Claire and Davin have taken over our Kindles! Ethan gets in on the action every once in a while, but is relatively content with his Nintendo DSi for now.

I love Claire with Pig tales, but she only allowed Grandma to do this once.

Speaking of Pigs.......

Claire has a new nick name, Pig-Pen! Do you see much of a  difference in some of her photos?

Dress up time!!

One of the main reasons I am behind again is.......
You may have guessed, soccer season.

Minnie McKinnis

Minnie Jewel McKinnis is featured in one of the only shots I have of her "in utero". She was scheduled to be delivered on 2-22-12, but she and God had other plans!

Happy Birthday, Minnie Jewel McKinnis!
She was born on February 16, 2012 at 10:45a.m. and weighed in at 8lbs 1oz!

We went to the hospital as soon as school was out! The boys were so excited to meet her for the first time!
 I love this pic!
I was so excited to hold Minnie for the first time. It looks like she is screaming, but she is actually yawning.
 I swear!
Brettanne and I hosted a little Sip and See for Ashlea's friends that she doesn't get to see very often. I think a good time was had by all, and the cake was really yummy!

Welcome, baby Minnie!!!!!!!
