January parties

This weekend we have pretty much kind of just hung out around the house because it has been so cold!!! Here are some pic of the kids playing I took today. I was also trying to get a good shot of Davin for his birthday party invitations.

Claire is hanging out in her crib watching her mobile while I put away laundry. Her Daddy was supposed to pant over that pepto pink that I haven't liked since the day it was first painted. It taught me an important lesson that spending money on paint samples is well worth it. It will be painted over with a lovely yellow....Doug couldn't find his paint tray so he couldn't paint. Strange......

Ethan being goofy!

Last weekend we had back to back celebrations that ended Saturday evening at Janne's house for a good-bye party for Dave. He is moving to east Texas.

Davin is singing "Beat it" for them

I love this pic of Claire and Greg

Janne being silly! The other kids were all there as well, but they were all off playing somewhere else, and I didn't bother to go find them ;)

Saturday morning we were at Keaton's 7th birthday party at Bounce U. The boys and adults all had a great time!

Ethan's eye injury.

Isn't this cake amazing! The ball is even edible white chocolate. All Misty's cakes are fabulous. She also made our wedding cake, and her cakes taste even better than they look!

Ethan, Davin, and Keaton

Friday night we celebrated Brody's 3rd birthday at Paradise Pond. Davin liked it so well that he is going to have his party there as well. There was lots of playing!

Then pizza and cake!

Then more playing!!

I just realized that I didn't even get a picture of Ethan! That is because once we get to a place like this I only see him in flashes until it is time to go! I must do better at capturing my fast as lightening boy!

5 months old

January 20th, and Claire Boodle is already 5 months old. My how time is flying!! She weighs 15lbs even, and is 25 and 1/4 inches long. She is finally wearing 3-6 month stuff, but lots of it is still pretty big on her. She wears size 2 diapers.

At Grandma's house, she drinks a 5 0z bottle every 3 hours. I am still pumping at work 3 times a day. It is a pain in the butt, but she is well worth it. I wish I could say she is sleeping through the night, but she isn't. Oh well, I love her just the same. Sleep deprived and all!
She gets really excited and starts kicking her little feet when she sees you coming with the food bowl. She also does this when she sees her brothers, or when one of us get home from work.
She loves sitting in her high chair like a big girl at dinner time. So far she has had rice cereal, oatmeal, and sweet potatoes. She also loves playing on the floor. Anytime you lay her down she automatically flips to her tummy. She is already pulling her knees up underneath herself like she wants to crawl! She is drooling tons as she seems to be teething. Everything goes straight in her mouth once she gets her pretty impressive grip on it.
I love this stage! She is social and interactive, but she is still immobile. I am doing my best to enjoy every second of it. This morning she was playing with her hands. Too cute!

Jan. misc. stuff

Some random things have happened to begin 2010. Here is a fun one. Aunt Whitney spent the night with us. We stayed up late playing Mario Party 8 on the Wii. The next morning, the boys went with their Daddy to a builder's workshop at the Home Depot and built these fun Calenders.

That afternoon, Doug and I began taking down Christmas lights. Ethan got upset that Diesel, our dog, was going to run out the front door and run away. They tried to shove him out the backdoor into the back yard. Davin hurt Diesel's boy parts, and Diesel bit Davin in the face resulting in another Carenow visit for Davin. I should have taken a picture, but at the time I was much too upset. Davin protested every time we had to clean out his pretty severe puncture wound, so I never bothered him by shoving the camera in his face after that. Diesel now has no boy parts!

Here is my antique secretary's desk smashed to smithereens. You can see that the antique glassware that decorated the top of it did not make out much better. This was a result of my 7 year old using the twin air mattress sleeping bag he got for Christmas as a sled on the stairs. Luckily, he was not injured. This desk used to be in my entry way at the bottom of the stairs.
This mess took Doug and I FOREVER to clean up. Hopefully, we will be able to get the desk repaired. Someone will have to make a new leg for it b/c the leg snapped off and splintered. I guess he thought he would magically come to a halt when he got to the bottom. What a creative mind he has!

Christmas in Littlefield

On December 26th, we headed to the panhandle town of Littlefield, TX to celebrate Christmas at Doug's sister's house. It was an icy drive, and there was tons of snow in the ground the entire trip. The kids were all ready to open presents upon our arrival!

I'm ready for the Cowboys to play!

The boys with Uncle Kevin who flew in from Denver.

Claire with Aunt Tammy.

Grandpa Don wrapped toilet paper as a joke. Ethan was not very amused.

More snow play at Aunt Tammy's. They played in the snow a lot. I wish I had more pic. These were taken when we were getting in the car to go home, not during "playtime" so much. They knocked their snowman's head off.

White Christmas

Christmas 2009 will be a memorable one. It was Claire's first Christmas, and our first Christmas in our new home. It was also the first white Christmas I remember. The above pic was taken shortly after our scary drive home from the Christmas eve service. It sure was coming down!

The boys couldn't wait to go play in the snow even though it was bitterly cold with the 40 mph wind!
Snow angel time!

This is the street light we decorated on the corner of our yard.
I thought this made a pretty picture.

Daddy inside where it was warm with Claire.

The camera even fogged up!

Snow drift at the back door!

Bravely eating snow.

After we warmed up we baked cookies for Santa, and decorated our first gingerbread house.

Isn't it lovely?

Bert watched from the door bell box as he waited for the sound of Santa's bells.
Santa left a sorts of fun things!

After playing with the fun things Santa left,
they could hardly wait to open their gifts from us.

We headed over to my mom's house for Christmas dinner that afternoon.

Opening the gigantic basketball goal at Grandma's house.

It was hard work!
