Happy Halloween!

Doug and I co-hosted a little Halloween costume party with Ben and Sarah the night before Halloween this year. Doug spent the day smoking his much loved brisket, and we dressed up for the first time in years. Doug and I had a little "Wicked" Theme going on with the Witch and the Scarecrow.
Ben and Sarah were a brick house and a brick layer.

Jessica Rabbit, Lord Licorice from Candy Land, and a tiny little thief
Luke and Carisse were Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf. Luke made a friend for life in Ethan when he found out that Luke is a paramedic at Denton Station Number 6. Luke invited Ethan to come visit him at work the next day (Halloween). Do you think Ethan took this invitation lightly?

Davin watched Levi carve a pumpkin since I was a horrible mother, and was too tired and lazy to carve the 3 pumpkins I bought for us to carve this year. We went to visit Luke at the fire station before we went trick or treating. Ethan's costume was perfect!

He looked so serious.

The boys with Mr. Luke.

Luke was really awesome, and showed them all sorts of cool stuff in the ambulance and around the fire house. Luke told Ethan he could come by any time. I wonder if he knew how literally Ethan would take that statement?

After our fire house fun it was time to trick or treat. Claire was a tulip fairy. The hat was the cutest part of the costume, but it did not last very long.

Getting a group picture has proven to be a difficult task here lately.

Rachel joined us for trick or treat this year. The boys were so excited that she could come!

We went trick or treating with our good friends, the Sterns, in their neighborhood.
Davin wanted to be the scariest Frankenstein.

The Carnival of Carnage house on Nightingale is always a Halloween favorite for the adults and kids alike. Davin was not afraid of this spooky bride.
He tried to scare her before she scared him!
I love this picture of my scary Frankenstein monster.

Claire figured out that these people were giving out candy real quick. She never said trick or treat, but she would sure walk up to them and wait for the goodies. We had a great time this year! It truly was a Happy Halloween!
