LegoLand
Yesterday, we got out and about bright and early to go meet Kimberly and Keaton at the new Lego Land inside Grapevine Mills. We stopped by the hospital on the way there to pick up Rachel so she could join in on the fun. Claire also got to meet baby Lila for the first time. She asked if she could give her a kiss. What sweet girls!
We lucked out and planned our visit on the busiest day they have had the entire summer, and had to wait in line for 2 hours before we could even get inside. I am glad they provided some in line entertainment!

I even walked down to the food court and brought back Sonic for everyone, and we had a picnic line sitting down in line!

It is hard to see him, but Ethan got chosen as a volunteer to pull one of the levers to turn on the Lego making machine.
Our first ride. It was a car on a track, and you had to shoot at different bad guys that popped up to save the Lego Princess! Claire took her bad guy shooting very seriously!!

Lego Dallas was the kids favorite part (next to the 4D movie), and I must admit the it was pretty cool!!!!!! It is all the major DFW landmarks constructed out of Lego. It is even day and night in this room, and when it gets dark there is a really neat fireworks display.

Kimberly and I were two tired mommies at the end of it all, but we did have a good time! I would like to revisit Lego Land sometime when it isn't as crowded. I was informed by others that had been there several times before that it was much more enjoyable when it wasn't ridiculously crowded like yesterday was.

Happy Birthday, Lila!
It's Lila Rae's birthday today! Her proud big sister, Rachel, came to hang with us while we waited for the news of her arrival. The kids spent the majority of the morning playing hospital, and we also played a guessing game. Doug won both categories of weight and time!
We headed up to the hospital as soon as we received the word that she was officially here. She even opened her eyes for us.Congratulations, Yanez family!!!!!!!

Lake weekend

Last weekend my parents took their camper for a weekend stay at Lake Ray Roberts Isle de Bois branch. The kids absolutely loved the swim beach, and I must admit it was pretty cool for a lake. I am not fan of lake swimming, especially if it's Lewisville Lake, but this lake had real sand vs. rock at the beach as far as I could touch. I could even see my feet when I first got in the water!

The boys stayed the night, but Doug and I packed up and headed home with Claire shortly after dinner. The nice thing is this lake is only about 45 minutes north of us. We don't do a whole lot of overnight stays with Claire because it is kind of a pain in the behind to be blatantly honest. She goes right to sleep in her own bed which mean mommy and daddy get to sleep as well :) I am sure next summer will be a lot easier, but I am in no rush to push her to grow up by any means!
4th of July
We had a very low key 4th this year. We spent some of the afternoon floating around the backyard pool with Daddy and Aunt Whitney. Ethan was in Galveston with the McKinnis' this year. I know that he enjoyed his trip, but Davin sure did miss him!

Waiting for the show to begin. I think Davin asked me 200 times when the fireworks were going to start!

Claire was absolutely horrified at first. She army crawled at a seeming unnatural speed for a 22 month old across the blanket to her Daddy. We do sit very close...right at the yellow tape. Claire was fine by the finale. She was even sitting up and clapping. Denton/Fouts Field puts on a pretty good show, and it is easy to get in and out of.
